For more than 20 years the Berlin-Kensington Branch's Thundermoon Summer Day Camp has provided a place where children make new friends, enjoy a traditional camping experience and are led by an experienced and dedicated staff. Camp Thundermoon is licensed by the State of Connecticut for boys and girls 5 - 13 years of age.

Highlights include:

• Sports skill development in sports such as soccer, basketball, T-ball, ultimate Frisbee and more….

• Afternoon Skills include nature, arts and crafts, field games, theatre, archery….

• Swimming: Progressive swim lessons at least three days a week as well as recreational swim time.

• Field Trips to local "hot spots" each session.

• Overnights: one overnight per session for older campers and LITs.

Specialty programs include:

Leaders in Training (LIT), Kinder Camp, Dance Camp, Girls Basketball Camp, Choral Expressions and Theatre Camp.

Directors and Staff

A great camp has a great camp staff. Camp Thundermoon prides itself on providing a fine staff of qualified personnel. Staff members are carefully chosen and participate in our intensive week long training session which includes certification in Community First Aid and CPR prior to the camp season. The pool supervisors are certified and maintain the highest standards of water safety at all times. Our staff is the special ingredient that has the ability to help kids channel their excitement and energy into creating a successful camp season.
