The Berlin-Kensington YMCA became a Branch of the New Britain-Berlin YMCA in 1969. It is a traditional town and country, non-facility YMCA. Its administrative offices are located at 365 Main Street, Kensington. The Branch's outstanding preschool child care center is directly across the street at 362 Main Street. Most of the Branch's programs are provided in community facilities in collaboration with other local organizations. The Berlin-Kensington Y serves more than 2,000 children a year (nearly a third of the town's children). It provides financial assistance and support to those in need and also provides a wide variety of volunteer opportunities.
