Middle/High School Programs
Middle School Drop In: In collaboration with the McGee parent UpBeat team and the Berlin Youth and Family Services, we are proud to offer this program for 6, 7 and 8th grade McGee students. The Drop Ins are held on Friday nights at least once a month at the school from 7 - 9 pm. A variety of recreation and sports activities, music, games and food as well as guest speakers make up these fun evenings. Senior Leader's Club for high school students.
Leaders Club: 6, 7 and 8th grade students can now register for this bi-monthly program. Get together with your friends for field trips, fun activities as well as leadership building skills.
Babysitting Course: Students age 11 and up will learn the basics of babysitting in this eight hour course held at the Child Care Center.
Youth and Government: For youth in grades 9 - 12, this program provides an opportunity to learn about the legislative process, government, social issues and how bills become laws. This program begins in the fall and culminates with a weekend in the spring at the Hartford capitol.
L.I.T. (Leaders in Training) Program: Are you a 6th, 7th or 8th grader who wants to develop your lifetime ability to be a leader? Do you want to spend a portion of your summer or school year volunteering on a YMCA field trip, in a special activity, sports program? Would you enjoy assisting in a childcare program?
